Turkey’s rebar exports have increased steadily over the years. In 2010, this rate was realized as $3,265 million; however, it decreased by 14.4% compared to the previous year. In the first eight months of 2011, Turkey’s rebar exports increased by around 9% compared to the same period of 2010. The increase in exports amounted to approximately 4.62 million tons. Export revenues amounted to $3.13 billion. This represents an increase of 32.9%. Turkey is the world’s leading exporter of rebar. This demonstrates its high performance in exports. As of 2010, the UAE, Iraq and Egypt were the main rebar export markets.
